Municipal authorities have closed the course 2017/2018 today at the Day Center for People with Mental Illness Totana City Council, in which 19 users with mental health diagnosis receive the provision of comprehensive care and rehabilitation at the psychosocial level.
The mayor, Andrés García, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Javier Baños, attended the closing ceremony, which marks the end of the year until September 1, when the new season begins.
Numerous family members and professionals who have been working throughout the year in the prevention of psychological and cognitive deterioration of users, as well as in enhancing their personal and social autonomy, and favoring and supporting their integration in the community have also attended.
About a dozen professionals work throughout the year with the users of this center, some of them shared with the Day Center "José Moyá Trilla".
The users have interpreted a play that was recorded and has been broadcast through a movie, they have made an emotional parade about values ​​and different live musical performances.
In addition, as every year coinciding with the closing of the course, has been delivered by the municipal authorities present of the diplomas in this school year that now ends.
The Day Center includes basic assistance services in the basic activities of daily life, accessible transportation and meals;
as well as other therapeutic services for prevention, counseling and guidance, social and occupational care, personal care and development, psychological care and occupational therapy.
Throughout the course, users participate in programs directed by professionals to improve their cognitive, psychoeducational, psycho-affective and socializing abilities;
and others of training in self-care skills, occupational tasks and work recovery, community integration, social support and personal intervention, among others.
Precisely, tomorrow Friday July 27 will also close the course of the Day Center for Intellectual Disability "José Moyá Trilla" (20:00 hours).
