The Deputy Speaker of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Alfonso Martínez Baños has filed a motion in the Regional Assembly demanding the immediate withdrawal of the new layout project of the AVE as it passes through the municipality of Totana, leaving its approval or publication in the BOE without effect. and media.

Martínez Baños demands that the previous route be continued, considering it less harmful to the general interests of the municipality of Totana and to the affected neighbors.

The socialist deputy spokesman referred to the announcement recently made by the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF), about unilaterally modifying the route of the AVE as it passes through the municipality of Totana.

"ADIF has thrown to the bin the previous project, which although it was not the best for the municipality, was much less harmful than they intend to carry out now, skipping the negotiations and modifications of 8 years ago."

Martínez Baños said that the new layout destroys homes and areas such as Lebor, La Capellanía or Las Suertes, which he condemns to marginality, as well as modifying, without any logical sense, the location of the future suburban train station that will replace the current one. .

It also denounces that in Totana, the AVE is only causing damages and headaches.

"The modification of the Layout Project that ADIF intends will bring more chaos on a situation that was already complicated."

Therefore, Martínez Baños claimed that any new layout proposal has the knowledge and approval of the City Council Plenary, as well as the approval of the residents of Totana.
